Do I have to purchase a separate beach pass if I buy an Adventure Island session?
You do not need to purchase a separate beach pass if you purchase an Adventure Island session! The beach is included with your Adventure Island ticket.
Do you have lifeguards?
In order to enhance the safety of our guests, lifeguards will be stationed on the beach, on the Adventure Island water course and the kids water course (Mini Adventure Island).
Lifeguard staff will be prominently marked as such and signs will be displayed at the facility marked "Lifeguard on Duty". Lifeguards do not replace the need and requirement for parents/guardians to monitor their child's swimming activities at all times. In essence, children under 14 must be supervised by an adult, 18+ years, at all times. Anyone behaving in an unsafe (including the failure to supervise children) or destructive manner will be removed from the swimming area.
Do you have access to lockers at the beach?
Yes, we have several lockers open for use at Bear Paw Beach. No purchase required unless you need a lock.
Do I need my own lock, or can I purchase one at the beach?
We have lockers onsite for use. You can bring your own lock or you can purchase one from us. Please note: We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Do I have to sign another waiver?
Once you fill out an initial waiver, your waiver can be used for one full season! Any guests under 18 will need to have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver for them.
What are the age, height & weight requirements for Adventure Island?
Minimum age is 6 years old. Minimum height is 42”. Maximum weight is 250 lbs.
Do I (parent) have to go on the obstacle course with my kids?
You do not have to go on the course to supervise your child, however we do recommend it for younger children. There are Attendants that are on Adventure Island that are out there to keep everyone safe. We do encourage adults to go out on Adventure Island to have fun!
Do we have to wear a life jacket?
You do not have to wear a life jacket on the beach but it is required for the obstacle course. The life jackets we provide are for obstacle course use only and cannot be used on the beach. You have to use one of our provided life jackets for Adventure Island (obstacle course). We have different colored life jackets that can be used for guests who do not bring a flotation device for the beach.
When does the beach close?
The beach and Adventure Island will close Labor Day weekend.
How often is the water quality checked?
The water quality is checked daily. The lake has a pump house and six aeration pumps that are constantly filtering the water.
Do you sell season passes for the beach or the Adventure Island obstacle course?
We offer season passes for the beach, but not for Adventure Island.
Is the food I buy here allowed on the beach?
The food you buy at our onsite eatery, Beachside Eats and Treats, is allowed at the beach. Outside food and beverage other than water is not allowed, with the exception of water bottles*. No glass allowed on or around the beach!
*We will accommodate special food allergy situations on a case by case basis. Upon arrival, please inform one of our guest relations members to assist you with any special food accommodations you may have.
Can we bring in a flotation device or umbrella?
Yes, only single person flotation devices and umbrellas are allowed. Umbrellas cannot be stuck into the sand. Tents are NOT allowed on the beach.
Can we bring our own chair?
You can bring your own chairs but we do have beach furniture. The chairs are not permitted to be completely under the water. They have to be visible.
How deep is the lake?
The lake is up to 5ft deep in the swim area and 15ft deep in the roped off area (Adventure Island). Life jackets are required to be worn outside of the swim area.
What are the requirements to use the Mini Adventure Island Kid’s Course?
Guests using the floating Kid’s Course must be between ages 4-6 and be 39”-59” tall. A parent or guardian must be near their child using the course at all times. All participants are required to wear a lifejacket while on the course. Adults are not permitted on the course. Kid’s Course session times are available in 50 minute increments only.
Am I able to change/cancel my session time?
Adventure Island tickets are booked for the exact date and time as purchased. We recommend every guest books the exact date and time they desire. Bear Paw Adventure Park does not issue refunds for cancellations, however we will try to accommodate each guest by finding a new session time that works for them/their group, pending availability.
Are we able to fish in the lake?
Fishing is not permitted in the lake, it is designated for swimming only.
What is the Cabana Cancellation Policy?
To cancel a cabana rental and be eligible for a refund, notice must be given at least 7 days in advance. Cabana cancellations made within this timeframe will receive a full refund, minus a $20 booking fee. Cabanas canceled less than 7 days prior to the scheduled date are non-refundable.
Are pets allowed on the premises?
We do not allow pets on our premises to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests.
What about service animals?
Service animals that are required because of a disability are welcome. If you bring a service animal, please be prepared to answer two questions as permitted by law:

Please note that emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not considered service animals under the ADA and are therefore not permitted.
Does the beach close for bad weather?
Bear Paw Adventure Park does not offer refunds for activities affected by weather, except in the case of thunderstorms or extreme winds, which would be provided in the form of a credit. The park remains open under most weather conditions. If the park closes due to thunder, lightning, or extreme winds, and guests are unable to participate in their purchased activity for at least 50% of the time, a return credit will be issued. Guests are required to visit our on-site ticket booth on the day of the closure to request the credit. Requests for credit cannot be made after the day of the closure.
For guests who reserved a cabana, credit requests must be submitted within 24 hours. If the cabana was used for more than 50% of the reserved time, no credit will be issued. If the cabana use was less than 50%, a 50% credit will be provided. In cases where the cabana could not be used at all, a full credit will be granted, minus a $20 booking fee.

What are the height, weight, & age requirements for the Ropes Course?
Participants must be between 45-250 lbs and 42”- 75” (3’6” - 6’3”) in height. All participants must be able to reach 70" while standing flat-footed to go on the course unassisted. We will verify guest requirements upon arrival. If a guest cannot reach 70", they must be accompanied by a buddy who is 14 years old or older. Each buddy can assist up to 2 people. Buddies are subject to the same requirements.
How often is the Ropes Course inspected for safety?
The park is built and maintained to ACCT standards (Association of Challenge Course Technology), the industry oversight organization in the United States. Bear Paw Ropes Course is inspected daily by our staff, and annually by an ACCT certified inspector.
How often will I need to sign a waiver?

What clothing and equipment are necessary?
An outfit you'd wear to the gym is perfect. Shoes must have a closed toe and heel which means flip flops, crocs and most sandals are not allowed. Gloves are a required piece of safety gear which you are allowed to bring your own pair, otherwise gloves are available for sale.
Do I need a reservation?
You may purchase a ticket upon arrival if you prefer, however reserving your time of choice online for activities is recommended to beat the line and guarantee your time. If you are late to your reservation, you will be scheduled for the next available session.

Bear Paw Adventure Park does not offer refunds for activities affected by weather, except in the case of thunderstorms or extreme winds, which would be provided in the form of a credit. Can we bring our own climbing gear?
The only climbing gear you may bring are gloves. We recommend bringing full finger coverage.
How long is a reservation/tour time?
The total session time is 90 minutes. This includes 30 minutes for training and gearing up and 60 minutes for climbing. If you are late, we will gear you up at the next available session time.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bear Paw Adventure Park does not issue refunds or credits for cancellations, with the exception of cabana rentals. In the event of a cancellation, we will always first try to reschedule the ticket, dependent on availability.
Do I need a ticket if I just want to watch?
Yes. You must purchase a Spectator Land Pass.
What if somebody doesn't meet the height requirement?
We've got a solution for you, it's the ‘buddy system!’ You will need someone in your party who meets the climbing requirements and is 14 y/o and up. This buddy will need to stay with the climber during the duration of their adventure to transition their belay devices at each platform.
Will there be a guide helping me?
This is a self-guided experience. You must be able to move your gear around the course which you will have a chance to practice during the 30 minute Ground School. By meeting the height requirements, you’ll be good to climb!
Can I take pictures?
You are required to have empty pockets, but a fanny pack is a great solution! Or, you can pick up a phone holder from the ticket booth to wear while you climb.
Are there lockers available?
There are lockers available for rent across the parking lot near The Ember Lodge and on the side looking out over Bear Paw Beach. You may bring your own lock or purchase one from us.

It's our goal to have guests take all of their personal belongings home with them at the end of their adventure, but sometimes we find a few items leftover! Here's what happens with lost and found items:
-Any excessively gross item such as single socks or undergarments will be discarded
-We'll store lost & found items at the campground for a maximum of 30 days
-If we do not receive a request for the item within 30 days, it will be discarded or donated
-We will not seek out owners of lost items to get them returned. You are responsible for all items you bringHow do I get my stuff back?
